From One-Man Business to Global Player

The Beginning

BOKELA was founded in 1986 directly from the university of Karlsruhe as an independent engineering company for mechanical process engineering and specialised in the technology of solid/liquid separation (SLS).

In the early years the performances concentrated on services like

• consultation and trouble shooting

• product testing

• elaboration of market analysis and patent analysis

• technology transfer for established companies like Andritz, KHD, Lurgi etc.

• developments for market leaders

But from the very beginning BOKELA started to develop own innovative SLS technologies and submitted first patent applications. The business strategy was orientated towards international markets and the activities and the range of performances increased quickly. The revamping of large filter plants became an important business activity. With the experience gained by these projects BOKELA enforced the development of own technologies and started own plant building activities.
