Backwash Filtration

The washing back procedure of BOKELA backwash filter is very flexible. The filtration happens always continuously, what means that the filtrate throughput comes out constantly. The unit can operate:

  • in all chambers at the same time

  • in each chamber behind one another

All the filtrate and reject flows can be separately controlled during the operation.

For adapting the washing back procedure, three parameters are available:

  • the operating time

  • the push speed (10 - 100 mm/s)

  • the pressure difference (Dp = p2 - p3)

A partial cleaning allows a very intensive and economical backwashing:

  • The predominate part of the filter cloth participates always on the filtration.

  • The thin slits in the suction-shoe allow a great pressure difference (Dp = p2 - p3) while maintaining very small flow volumes.

This makes the cleaning very effective and the volume of reject is still very small.
