Design Focus

The disc filters "Boozer" are characterised by following features:

  • the "joint single trough" combines the advantages of a single trough (no agitator required, therefore no leakage, no maintenance and no power required, thus high availability) and a common trough (safety overflow system can handle total feed flow, constant slurry level in all individual compartments, automatic level control possible)

  • the  common and "twin common" trough do not require any agitator thanks to an intelligent feeding system

  • the segments are light and have a bayonet fixing to facilitate the maintenance work

  • the filter cloth is quickly fitted on the segments with cable ties and can be washed online (during full filter operation) by means of wash bar underneath the cake deflector plates

  • permanent walkways make cloth change quick and easy

  • the disc filter "Boozer" is adapted to high rotation speeds and can run at up to 6 rpm

  • the cake discharge is operated by BOKELA designed air blow back system which ensures 100 % cake discharge even at maximum filter speed of 6 rpm (see also the video)

  • the overflow is sized to contain all the feed slurry without spillage to the filter floor

  • the drain valves are sized to allow a really quick drainage (25 s) of the remaining slurry at filter stop

  • optionally, the cake can be washed by mean of wash bars connected to a distribution box

  • the filtrate pipes and the control head are designed to improve filtrate hydraulic and to ensure 100 % cake discharge

  • depending on the duty, the shaft is equipped with internal (e.g. Al-hydrate filtration) or external (e.g. coal filtration) filtrate pipes.

  • the slurry level in the trough controls the filter speed for a constant cake moisture and no overflow (no performance loss)

  • the process angles are individually adjusted to each process and client's requirements so as to get the highest possible throughput for the concerned product

  • the filter can be operated fully automatic
