Iron ore is widely distributed around the world with large and numerous resources. However, the ore deposits are quite different and during wet processing there is a wide range of particle sizes that need to be treated.
For the coarse ore (d50 > 100 μm), which is intended for sintering, our BoVac Pan Filters provide a reliable and economical solution for filtration and dewatering. They are specially designed for the high wear and rapid sedimentation of this product. In cold climatic zones, the use of steam cabins offers the right solution to meet the transport requirements.
The fine ore (d50 < 100 μm) is ground finer and vacuum filtration is no longer sufficient to achieve the moisture required for pelleting. To meet this challenge, our most modern BoHiBar Disc filters with innovative wear protection components are the future technology. They are the right choice to produce a concentrate with the ideal residual moisture content for pelleting. If a particularly low residual moisture of < less than 3 wt.-% is required to enable transport by rail in the cold winter climate, steam pressure filtration is performed on BoHiBar Disc filters.
Applications:
- coarse ore (sinter feed)
- fine ore (pellet feed)
Main benefits:
- high throughput
- low costs with regard to CAPEX and OPEX
- minimal maintenance
- highest availability
- small footprint
- low residual moisture through steam pressure filtration allows safe transport in cold regions
