This BoVac Pan filter was chosen by the client to replace an old pan filter. The aim of the client was to increase the filter performances on the same footprint and to implement state-of-the-art equipment.
With the BoVac Pan filter, the customer now operates a most modern vacuum rotary pan filter which achieves 40 % more capacity in terms of solids throughput without increasing the filter cake moisture. At a filter cake moisture of 4 wt- %, the throughput is 130 t/h, but the filter can also handle solids throughputs of up to 200 t/h, with the residual moisture then rising to 6 wt- %. Efficient cake washing ensures higher solids quality since the content of NaCl in the MOP filter cake is reduced from 16 to ≤ 1 wt- %.
The filter is equipped with metal sieves (no filter cloth), which ensure a clean filtrate with less than 1 wt.- % solids in the filtrate and must be replaced only every 2 to 4 years.
In comparison to centrifuges the BoVac Pan filter offers following advantages:
- strongly reduced maintenance costs and efforts
- high availability
- low noise pollution at operation floor
- operation without vibration, therefore no special building structure required.
